Throughout the world, railways are plagued by the inevitable build
up of seasonable debris on rail surfaces, which affects track adhesion.
These deposits are often the result of leaf fall, or oil and grease
deposited from vehicles in transit and result in considerably reduced
friction between rail and track.
Exhaustive development and trial, spurred on by the failure of several
other efforts to overcome the problem of porr track adhesion, has
resulted in the acceptance of high pressure water jetting as a fast,
efficient and environmentally sensitive way of improving the frictional
co-efficient without causing damage to the rail surface.
The WOMA - TMU 1000 is modular in design and may be configure to enable
a number of other cleaning applications to be carried out, thereby
maximising utilisation.
